HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Artists and those who admire their work converged onto downtown Hattiesburg to take part in the Spring Art Walk on Saturday. The annual event, which is free to the public is hosted by the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association.
Attendees were able to view artwork from various artists, crafters and retailers via pop-up shops and storefronts. Streets were blocked off until 8:00 p.m. to allow people to freely walk through and see the art offerings.
The Hattiesburg Arts Council's "Color My World" exhibit was on display at the Cultural Center throughout the evening. The event wasn't just for adults either. Kids also had the opportunity to play in smART Space, which allowed them to be as creative as their hearts desired with chalk drawings, coloring and other activities.
Several restaurants and shops were open during the Spring Art Walk including, but not limited to Old Town Gifts, Southern Fried Comics, OddFellows Gallery, Kress Gallery, The End Zone, Front Street Bar, Town Square Café, and The Porter.
