MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Three people have been charged in connection to a Marion County shooting.
According to a Facebook post from the Marion County Sheriff's Department, the shooting happened Wednesday on Killingsworth Circle in the Lampton community.
Officials said several shots were fired into a home, but no injures were reported.
Investigators were able to identify a 17-year-old from Columbia as a suspect in the shooting, according to the sheriff's department.
Sheriff's department officials said the teen ran when deputies confronted him, and he threw a firearm as he ran. The teen was taken into custody after a short foot chase.
The teen is charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $10,000.
The two other suspects charged in the case are Trashuna Jonnae Edwards, 20, and Johnauh Marquise Myers, 23.
Edwards is charged with accessory after the fact, hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. Myers is charged with accessory after the fact and hindering prosecution. Both suspects are awaiting bond hearings at the Marion County Jail.
The sheriff's department said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
