LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The suspect accused of robbing a Laurel convenience store at gunpoint on March 11 is now in custody.
Capt. Tommy Cox, with the Laurel Police Department, said Kearson Kenneth Levett, 36, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of armed robbery.
Levett is accused of robbing the Clark's convenience store on Ellisville Boulevard.
Surveillance video from the store shows a masked man with a gun walking into the store and confronting the clerk while a customer stands near the counter.
After grabbing cash from the clerk, the video shows the suspect leaving the store. Cox said the suspect left the scene on a small blue and white motorcycle.
Cox said Levett was arrested in the Pendorff area by Jones County Sheriff's deputies after further investigation. His bond was set at $50,000.
