Hattiesburg woman celebrates 105th birthday

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Family and friends celebrated the 105th birthday of Louise Bland, of Hattiesburg, on Sunday. The grandmother has four children and several grandchildren, as well as great-grand children. 

The celebration was held at Antioch Baptist Church on John Street in Hattiesburg. Bland's daughter said her mother has been a very active member with the church. Church members say Bland is a pillar of the congregation.

    Joe Hartfield is in his 12th season as the head coach of Hattiesburg High Baseball, and the Tigers are district champions for the third straight year. Even with all the success, Hartfield is very fortunate to be out there coaching this season.
