HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police arrested a man wanted for armed robbery Friday.

Michael Smith was taken into custody at the Broadway Inn at 1818 Broadway Drive, according to Hattiesburg police. Charges are pending at this time. 

Police responded to Walmart on US-98 around 10:30 a.m. Thursday after a victim said she was sitting in her vehicle when a man approached her and demanded her money, according to Hattiesburg police. After refusing, the suspect said that he had a knife before he left running in the direction of Sam's and got in a silver car.

    Injuries midway through the 2017 football season thrust Northeast Jones High School’s Swiss-army-knife-of-a-player, Javier Magee, behind center as the Tigers’ starting quarterback. The experience was, to say the least, unsettling. “It was kind of hard,” said Magee, who is known by his nickname, “Fi Fi,” which for some reason lost in time, is spelled “Fa Fa.”
