St. Patrick's Day forecast

PINE BELT (WDAM) -

The Pine Belt is experiencing some wet weather as everyone prepares for St. Patrick's Day festivities.

Rain showers moved in Friday morning and will hang around into the afternoon before clearing out. A few lingering showers are possible tonight with lows in the 60s.

For Saturday and Sunday, expect off and on showers and thunderstorms with highs into the upper 70s and lows in the lower 60s.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will be possible Sunday night into Monday morning.

There is a marginal to slight risk some of these storms could be severe, bringing hail and damaging winds to the area.

    There is a heat advisory for two counties in the WDAM viewing area. They are Simpson and Lawrence counties. The advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday.
