An attempt to help a stranded motorist turned into a drug bust for Forrest County deputies around noon Tuesday.
Arrested for allegedly possessing 1.4 grams of heroin was Rodriquez Antonio Barnes, 40, of New Orleans.
He was taken into custody on Monroe Road at Interstate 59.
The Sheriff's Department said a deputy thought Barnes was having car trouble and pulled over to help him.
After Barnes began acting suspiciously, deputies searched him and said they found heroin in his pocket.
Barnes was also charged with resisting arrest and failure to comply with a police officer.
