HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police chief Anthony Parker has been chosen to lead an annual parade in the Hub City on March 17.

He has been named grand marshal for the Irish-Italian Festival's "Roll and Stroll" Parade, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. along West 4th Street.

The parade and the accompanying festival, which starts about 5 p.m. that day, are hosted by Hattiesburg's St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Truett Roberts, associate general counsel for the University of Southern Mississippi, has been chosen as king for the parade and Cathy Englert, the parish secretary, has been named queen, or "colleen" for the event.

The festival is in its 17th year.

The parade was first held in 2008.
