WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Wayne County High School student has been taken into custody following a bomb threat Monday.
Waynesboro Police Chief Holt Ross said an anonymous call came in to the school around 1:30 p.m. Ross said students and staff were immediately evacuated, and a bomb sniffing dog was brought in for the search.
Nothing was found on campus, and everyone was allowed to return to the building.
Investigators from Waynesboro police, MBI, ATF and the FBI worked together to track down the source of the call and make an arrest.
Ross said the suspect was taken into custody and charged with making a threat to a school, which is a felony. The name of the student is not being released.
