MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Two men and a 17-year-old have been charged in connection to a string of auto burglaries in Marion County.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies made the arrests early Wednesday morning after a resident on Melba St. in the Lakeview community reported seeing two people run out of their garage, get into a vehicle, and drive away.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies also received reports of auto burglaries in the area of Stonewood Dr. and National Guard Rd.

A Facebook post from the sheriff’s department said deputies located the vehicle involved in the Melba St. incident and stopped the driver. Officials said Joseph Lefebvre, 18, Tamaj Ishman, 18, and a 17-year-old were taken into custody.

Deputies secured a warrant to search the vehicle and reportedly found items stolen from Stonewood Dr. and National Guard Rd.

Lefebvre and Ishman were booked into the Marion County Jail on three counts of auto burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Their bonds were set at $20,000. The teen is facing the same charges but was placed on house arrest pending a court hearing, the sheriff’s department said.
