The Saints will matchup with their oldest rival in a new spot. They’ll meet the Falcons tomorrow for the first time inside the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
For Drew Brees and company, this rivalry has always been intense, mainly because both teams have enjoyed success over the last decade.
They’re a great team, and they’ve won a ton of games since we’ve been here over the last 12 years. We’ve had some great battles with those guys regardless of the records. They’ve won division titles, they’ve been the one-seed. We’ve won division titles and been the one-seed. Bottom line is you’re going to have very, very competitive games. I think the fan bases too probably see a bit of a rivalry there. At the end of the day, they’re a divisional opponent fighting for the same thing we are," said quarterback Drew Brees.
As hard as it is for The Who-Dat nation to admit, this rivalry has tilted towards Atlanta recently. In their last six meetings, the Saints are just 2-4.
