The Saints offense struggled all afternoon, Sunday, in Los Angeles, especially on third-down conversions. Drew Brees' unit only converted on 3-of-13 opportunities on the crucial down.
Brees completed 22-of-32 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown. His counterpart, Jared Goff, threw for 354 yards and two touchdowns, contributing to a 26-20 victory over the Black and Gold.
Brees could've thrown two touchdown passes on the afternoon, but a Mark Ingram touchdown reception was negated by a penalty. The Saints would settle for a Wil Lutz field goal on that possession.
"We never found a rhythm, a good rhythm run, pass. It felt like everything was really tough sledding. The minute we get something going, there would be a penalty that would set us back, and then we would be off the field," said Brees.
