HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Thanksgiving is over and that means many people are now focusing on Christmas, including Hattiesburg Pastor Jeff Clark of Venture Church.
He brought his family to Thomley's Christmas Tree Farm to search for the perfect tree to bond his family together.
"This is the first year we're looking at not being with them for several years because they're going to Africa," Clark said.
Clark's daughter BethAnne Mitchell and her family are heading to Africa after the holidays for work, and they brought out the entire family for the last time.
"This is a special time for our kids," Mitchell said. "This is the first time that [our daughter] picked out a tree. This will be the last real tree that [our kids] will have over the next four years."
Being that this is the last Christmas he will have with his daughter for several years, he's happy he lives in a community where he can have the opportunity to make memories with his family.
"We're trying to pack it all in this one Christmas to make the most of it with every memory we can get and every feeling that you can get from Christmas so that we can milk it over the next three years," Clarke said.
Mitchell and Clare said it was a joy to watch the kids feed the animals and play on the attractions at Thomley's one last time.
As for the tree they picked, Mitchell said she couldn't be happier.
"It's perfect. We picked it out so of course it's perfect."
