HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Last minute grocery shoppers filled the aisles Wednesday.
"Two turkeys, ham, dressing, greens cabbage, french beans with white potatoes and turkey butts in it," Roshunda Trody said.
Hefty dinner menus for Thanksgiving day.
"I'm from Hattiesburg, MS, but I'm back in town to be with my family for the holidays and doing a little bit of last minute shopping," Trody said.
Grocery shopping madness just hours before the big holiday.
"I mean, it's a madhouse everywhere you go," Trody said. "It's like we do this every year. Why do we wait until the last minute to run to the store? So, my excuse is I'm coming from out of town."
Trody isn't the only last minute shopper packing her Sullivan's Grocery buggy with everything she and her family need for a total Thanksgiving spread.
"Well, I'm shopping for potatoes, mayonnaise, onions, bell peppers," Delores Adams said.
Sullivan's Grocery stocked the shelves with extra items this year in hopes every shopper left with what they need. We are talking sweet potatoes, cornmeal and the most traditional centerpiece, turkey.
"We have a lot of turkeys, we have a lot of turkeys," Bryant Ramsey said. "We sold out of ham. People have been coming in and asking for ham, but we don't have anymore ham left."
Luckily, Trody already has her ham, now she's just topping their family menu off with the sweet stuff.
"Pound cake, chocolate cake and I think that's about it. That's a lot," Trody said.
