HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Black Friday is November 25 and Pine Belt residents such as Emily Brumfield are getting ready for the big night.

“I have several things on my list,” Brumfield said. “I have lots of tools. I have items such as guns for my boyfriend and my dad, cooking utensils, an iPod, electronics and all kinds of stuff.”

Brumfield is one of many residents who says they will be out Thursday night hunting down sales for the holiday season.

Chelsea Murphy says she will be heading out with her friends for a TV and a sound bar for their dorm.

“I’ve seen the best deals for TVs at Walmart and probably the sound bar from Best Buy,” Brumfield said.

Retailers such as Walmart and Target have posted that they will be starting their Black Friday sales at 6 p.m. Thursday night, while Best Buy and Toys R Us will open at 5 p.m. that Thursday.

A few of the retail giants are doing pre-Black Friday sales to start off the holiday shopping season.
