The Collins Tigers are one of the best turn-around stories in the Pine Belt area. In his second season as head coach, Eric Booth has led the Tigers to an 11-2 record after winning just two games last season.
"Before I got the job they won two state championships back to back and I came in," Booth said. "They had lost 25 seniors when I took the job. I came in, I knew we're going to be rebuilding and everything. When I came in I went 2-9. From last year to right now, we don't have a lot to overcome. Our kids came out and worked hard this summer. We did a lot of 7-on-7. Our quarterback, wide receivers and running backs came and worked out. We caught the ball a lot. So, a lot of progress. We lost the first two games this year, then after we won 11 games in a row."
