PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A two-week burglary investigation in Perry County led to the arrest of five people and the recovery of hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen property.
"Over the last two weeks, the Perry County Sheriff's Department has been working on a burglary that occurred in the Runnelstown area," said Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles. "As the investigation has progressed, several arrests have been made."
Joseph L. Williford, 46; Deborah S. Scarbrough, 57; Hollins L. Strickland Sr., 46, and Connie A. Strickland, 36, are all charged, each with one count of commercial burglary.
"Earlier today (Thursday) we executed a search warrant with members of the Jones County Sheriff's Department at a residence belonging to Allen Fletcher, in Jones County, where several of the items from the burglary were recovered," Nobles said.
Nobles added that a bulk of the stolen items were tools, along with multiple other items they could not disclose due to the ongoing investigation.
According to Jones County authorities, Fletcher is in custody, and charges are pending with the ongoing investigation.
