Student Government Association to hold Lighting the Way November 30

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The University of Southern Mississippi Student Government (SGA) will hold its annual  Lighting the Way for the Holidays charity fundraiser November 30th  from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will take place on the south lawn of the Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building on the Hattiesburg campus.

The SGA has chosen the Hattiesburg Salvation Army’s Boys & Girls Club as the beneficiary of this event.

The event is free and open to the public. It’ll include food and refreshments, entertainment, activities for kids, a chance to meet Santa Claus and the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Folks can also buy lanterns for $100 to support local charitable organizations.

The lanterns will be displayed next to the Christmas tree.

    A Copiah County grand jury has indicted 45-year-old Dr. Michael Holifield on two counts each of sexual battery and gratification of lust, and one count of statutory rape for acts against two girls, ages 15 and 16.
