HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Tourism Commission announced a new director of communications and digital strategies on Monday.

Paige Crane was named the addition to the team and will serve as the media relations contact for VisitHattiesburg and focus on growing and strengthening the city's digital marketing efforts.

“Hattiesburg is one of Mississippi’s top visitor destinations, and our community is primed for further growth in corporate and leisure travel," VisitHattiesburg Executive Director Marlo Dorsey said. "With the right marketing strategies and collaborative efforts, we can compete at the next level for tourism events, tournaments, and other visitor services.  Paige has a strong working knowledge of the latest digital platforms and is a solid producer of results. She will greatly enhance our ability to position Hattiesburg regionally in the visitor destination market."

Crane served as part of the team that developed Hattiesburg's new tourism website, www.visithburg.org, in the spring. The Mississippi Tourism Association named the website "Tourism Promotion of the Year" during September's Governor Conference on Tourism in Jackson.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to fully dedicate my focus to VisitHattiesburg," Crane said. " I am eager to see the momentum continue to build for HBURG and look forward to working collaboratively with our industry partners to continue promoting our community as a tourism destination.”

Crane holds a master's degree in mass communication from the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University, where she graduated with honors in public relations and communications management. She is also a board member of Sales and Marketing Professionals in Hattiesburg and served as an ambassador for the Area Development Partnership.
