One person killed in Lamar County accident

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

One person was killed in an early Thursday morning vehicle accident in Lamar County.

Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident on MS-42 near the Jefferson Davis County Line.

Initial investigation determined that Eric Vansinderen, 45, of Monticello, Miss. was driving a Ford Escape SUV east on MS-42 when it crossed the westbound lane and left the roadway before overturning, according to Sgt. Brent Barfield of MHP Troop J. Vansinderen was ejected from the vehicle due to not wearing a seatbelt.

Vansinderen was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lamar County Coroner. The accident is being investigated by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
