Chili Cook-Off Brings the Heat to the ‘Pete’ on Nov. 11

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

On Saturday, November 11th from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m., the 12th annual Sigma Phi Epsilon Chili Cook-Off takes place at The University of Southern Mississippi's Pete Taylor Park.

For $5, folks can get a hot dog, samples of the chili, soft drinks and a souvenir cup. The community can attend the event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Extra Table, a Hattiesburg nonprofit organization that supplies food pantries and kitchens to fight hunger and food insecurity.

The event will feature music and a raffle to win a football signed by former NFL and Southern Miss quarterback Brett Favre as well as a gift card to a local boutique and a HoneyBaked Ham.

The last day for teams to register for the event is November 10th.

There’s a $50 entry fee.
