JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

An adult male pedestrian suffered what from appeared to be critical, life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning. 

Volunteer fire and rescue units from Glade and Powers responded just after 4:00 a.m. on Thursday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a Chevy Silverado pickup truck on Lower Myrick Road.

According to Jones County Fire Council, adult male was found laying just off the side of the roadway, unresponsive, but breathing. 

The pedestrian was transported initially to South Central Regional Medical Center by EMServ with two Powers Emergency Medical responders riding along to assist the EMServ paramedic. 

The pedestrian was reported to later be transported to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg for treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

The adult female driver of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup involved in the crash did not report any injuries at the scene of the crash.

The cause of this accident is under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.

    The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Missing/Endangered Child Alert for four-year-old William Holley III of Clarksdale. He was last seen Saturday at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the Hampton Inn and McDonald's on Highway 49 South in Clarksdale, in Coahoma County.
