MIZE, MS (WDAM) - After enduring just the second losing season (4-7) in program history last year, Mize has bounced back with a 7-4 campaign in 2017.
The Bulldogs are rewarded with a home playoff game as they host North Forrest (7-4) on Friday in the first round of the class 2A playoffs.
In his 37th year with the Mize program, head coach Kenny Robinson understands the importance of playing at home in November.
"This time of year, it's always nice to host a game," Robinson said. "Playing at your place, especially when the weather may be rainy or cold. They're real excited, they've worked hard. That was one of their goals this year so now they're getting to play."
"We're just ready, we've been practicing a lot," said Mize senior running back Rayshaud Haynes. "Coach has been pushing us, we've been playing together. We're a family. And the coaches tell us every day, it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish. And that's all we're trying to do."
