ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Jones County Junior College soccer captured its second straight MACJC/Region 23 title with a 3-2 win over Holmes on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Mikayla Banks scored the first goal of the game and freshman Aimee Durn followed up with two more goals for the Lady Bobcats. JCJC hosts Eastern Florida State College in an NJCAA District H playoff game next week.

On the men's side, Pearl River Community College won a thrilling match over Mississippi Gulf Coast to capture its sixth state championship in school history.

After 110 minutes - including two overtimes - of scoreless play, the Wildcats beat the 19th-ranked Bulldogs 4-1 on penalty kicks. North Forrest grad Kobe Lie came up with two saves for Pearl River and West Jones alum Kyle Estess scored the deciding fourth penalty kick to give PRCC the win.

The Wildcats (11-6) face Laredo (Texas) in the semifinals of the NJCAA South Region Tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Tyler, Texas.
