University Forum Series to Feature “Undocumented”

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A firsthand account of the life of undocumented immigrants in America is the next topic of discussion in the fall 2017 University Forum series at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Princeton University professor Dan-el Padilla Peralta will share his perspective on being an undocumented immigrant in America in his presentation, “Undocumented,” which forms his acclaimed book, Undocumented: A Dominican Boy's Odyssey from a Homeless Shelter to the Ivy League.

This program is set for October 24 at 6 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

The University Forum is presented by the Southern Miss Honors College.

This event is free and open to the public.

University Forum is also available for viewing at the Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach in Hardy Hall, room 316 via Interactive Video Network. For more information, email forum@usm.edu.

    The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Missing/Endangered Child Alert for four-year-old William Holley III of Clarksdale. He was last seen Saturday at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the Hampton Inn and McDonald's on Highway 49 South in Clarksdale, in Coahoma County.
