Suspect wanted for shooting 10-year-old in Laurel turns himself in

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A 10-year-old boy was shot in Laurel today.

The suspect of the shooting was identified as 29-year-old Travis Lamont Lindsey.

Officers responded to a complaint of a shooting around 2:45 this afternoon on North 2nd Avenue.

According to witnesses, the suspect fired multiple shots and fled the scene in a gray/silver vehicle.

According to Laurel Police chief Tyrone Stewart the child is currently at a hospital in Jackson.

Lindsey has now turned himself into Laurel police, and is expected to be officially charged tomorrow.
