HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A pedestrian was struck and killed, another seriously injured, and a Biloxi man is behind bars after an early morning wreck in the Hub City.

Justin Williamson, 25, of Biloxi, was arrested and charged with DUI-negligence resulting in death after an early morning crash on U.S. 49 by Interstate-59 and according to Hattiesburg Police Department Capt. Branden McLemore.

McLemore said a man and woman were both walking along the road around 2 a.m. when they were struck by the vehicle.

"The male was pronounced dead at the scene and the female was transported from the scene with serious injuries and is currently in ICU," said McLemore.

"The driver does have priors for DUI arrests, and alcohol appears to be a factor in this incident," McLemore said. "He has currently been booked into the Forrest County Jail."

The male victim was identified as Seth Allen Johnson, 26, of Ovett. Forrest County Deputy Coroner said the body will be sent to the State Crime Lab in Jackson for an autopsy.

Williamson appeared in court on Monday and had his bond set at $30,000.
