Hub City woman arrested after medical call leads to police pursuit

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hub City woman in behind bars facing multiple felony charges after a medical call led to a Hattiesburg firefighter being injured.

Sandeangela Fleischmann, 29, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon(vehicle) and felony eluding.

Around 10 p.m. Hattiesburg police responded to Walmart on U.S. 98 for an unresponsive woman.

"When officers arrived, they observed the Hattiesburg Fire Department assisting a female in a vehicle," said Hattiesburg Police Lt. Latosha Myers-Mitchell. "When officers approached, the vehicle fled the scene injuring a fireman."

Myers Mitchell said the pursuit continued to Interstate 59, and Fleischmann, was arrested at mile marker 51 in Lamar County.

Myers Mitchell added that the firefighter received non-life-threatening injuries.
