WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Damage from Hurricane Nate was reported in Wayne County Saturday night.

Residents off of County Farm road said the storm started around 9 p.m. that night and seemed to last only a few seconds.

“By the time we were beginning to hear trees snap and shingles coming off roofs, we went to our bathroom and took cover and within 45-seconds it was all over,” said resident Dan Jones.

Jones said that as soon as the storm was over, he went outside and found his neighbors home with extensive roof damage and windows blown out.

According to residents, the home was hit so badly that the family living there had to evacuate the premises.

Right now, residents said they are working to rebuild their community and leave the storm behind them.

There are currently no reported injuries.
