Good Friday morning, Pine Belt!
Obviously the big news is Tropical Storm Nate but before we get into that, today should be a very sunny and warm day. It will be a good time to prepare for possible impacts from Nate.
It would be wise to pick up some canned goods, bread, peanut butter and jelly, bottled water, fresh batteries and a flashlight incase you do not own one. I am saying this because Tropical Storm Nate is expected to impact the Pine Belt possibly beginning late Saturday night and certainly on Sunday.
We do expect tropical storm force winds in much of the area and that will likely produce some power outages.
Heavy rain can't be ruled out either but fortunately Nate will be moving rather fast and flash flooding is not expected at this time.
Please keep up with all future forecasts on Nate. We will be updating all of our weather products constantly until the threat has passed.
