JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County man has been charged with sexual assault.

In August 2017, Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators received a report from Children Protective Services stating a juvenile female had told a school counselor that her mother’s boyfriend, Jeremiah Sanson, had inappropriately touched her.

According to the sheriff, a forensic interview was conducted where the victim revealed more details about the inappropriate behavior.

A warrant was issued and Sanson was taken into custody.

Sanson appeared in court Friday where his bond was set at $10,000. The judge also ordered he have no contact with children until his case was resolved.

His initial appearance is scheduled for September 29, 2017 at 1pm at Jones County Justice Court.
