Jose weakening as track moves away from U.S.

PINE BELT (WDAM) -

The Gulf of Mexico is quiet as is much of the Atlantic except Hurricane Jose.

At the present time it appears over the next several days that the hurricane will slowly weaken and move away from the U.S. mainland.

Below is the latest track forecast from the National Hurricane Center. 

We will continue to watch Jose for any changes but it at this time it appears will have no impact on our area.

    The Laurel Police Department is searching for a shooting suspect after a Tuesday morning fight.  Police responded to a report of shots fired at the 800 block of South Magnolia at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to a LPD press release. Complainants reported that a fight between several individuals had erupted into gunfire.  The suspect, Lakendall A.
