Tropical Depression Harvey led to severe weather warnings across the Mid-South as a result of heavy rain and the possibilities of flash flooding and tornadoes.
The town of McCrory, Arkansas, which is about an hour and a half west of Memphis, saw around five inches of rain.
Flood water came right up to the door of an apartment complex off Highway 64 in the city. Cars in the area were submerged as well.
"It just came in so quick and so heavy at times that it didn't have time to drain away, like it normally does," McCrory resident Michael Brown said.
The city's emergency crews are all working to clear out the flooded streets. They worked to pump out flood water in an attempt to protect nearby properties.
"This is surprising. We weren't expecting to wake up to this, this morning," Shelly Wiggins, who lives in McCrory, said. "Less than two months since our last flood, people are just now getting their homes reestablished and getting furniture. I'm sure some are fixing to re-do it again"
"I'm just glad our home stays above water. We haven't had that bad luck yet," Wiggins added.
