Alabama’s athletic director visits Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The University of Alabama’s Athletic Director, Greg Byrne, visited Columbus Tuesday night to get fans excited for the start of the 2017 football season.

Byrne along with radio broadcaster Eli Gold and former quarterback Andrew Zow, met with local crimson tide fans for the Bama Clubs Season Kickoff Party. 

Alabama opens their season at a neutral site again this year. They will face Florida State at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

    Injuries midway through the 2017 football season thrust Northeast Jones High School’s Swiss-army-knife-of-a-player, Javier Magee, behind center as the Tigers’ starting quarterback. The experience was, to say the least, unsettling. “It was kind of hard,” said Magee, who is known by his nickname, “Fi Fi,” which for some reason lost in time, is spelled “Fa Fa.”
