LOS ANGELES (Mississippi News Now) -

Thursday was more of a L.A. Marathon than Game 1 of Super Regionals.

Madeline Jelenicki's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th gave UCLA a 8-7 victory over Ole Miss. Heartbreak for the Rebels after trailing 4-0 in the 6th. Brittany Finney's 2-run HR highlighted a 5-run frame to take a 5-4 lead.

Alyssa Gonzalez shined as a pinch hitter: 3-3 with 4 RBI. She had a 2-run single in the 10th to give Ole Miss a 7-5 lead. But UCLA used a 2-run triple to extend the game. Mike Smith's crew were one strike away on two different at-bats from taking Game 1 but Jelenicki's hit ended it.

Ole Miss will look to even the Super Regional series Friday night. First pitch is at 8:00pm. The game will be televised on ESPN, online at ESPN3.com.
