BILOXI, MS (WDAM) - William Carey University will break ground Monday for its new pharmacy school on the Gulf Coast.
School officials said it will be a three-story, $10 million facility on the Tradition Campus in Biloxi.
They said they also have plans for an additional two-story building that will house undergraduate science courses.
"When pharmacy starts, undergraduate chemistry and biology and sciences will grow, so we're building space for undergraduate pre-med and pre-pharmacy and also, a little extra space for our nursing school on the Coast," said Tommy King, president of William Carey University.
The first students could be accepted in the fall of 2018.
Dr. King said the university will meet with an accreditation council in Chicago this summer.
