JCJC men's basketball coach Rahim Lockhart resigns

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Rahim Lockhart is headed back to his alma mater. Lockhart resigned as Jones County Junior College's men's basketball coach to accept an assistant coaching job at Ole Miss.

Playing for the Rebels from 1998-2001, Lockhart helped lead Ole Miss to a school-record 27 wins and the program's first NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2001.

Lockhart will join former Bobcat and JUCO All-American Bruce Stevens, who signed with Ole Miss last week.

Hired by JCJC in May 2014, Lockhart's led the Bobcats to a 64-15 record over three seasons. In 2017, Lockhart coached Jones County to a 29-2 campaign and NJCAA sweet 16 berth.
