LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Laurel Police Department is seeking information that will lead to the arrest of several wanted suspects.

As of Monday, April 24, LPD is no longer looking for William L. Evans, who was wanted for credit card fraud. 

The suspects wanted and a list of their charges are as followed: 

DeChristopher Arrington, 22

  • Aggravated assault: Charge stems from an incident reported to LPD in April 2017.  

Roderick J. Johnson, 34 

  • Drive-by shooting: Charge stems from an incident reported to LPD in April 2017. 

Juazlyne Lawrence, 30

  • Felony Malicious Mischief: Charge stems from an incident reported to LPD in April 2017. 

David Earl Nix, 37

  • Embezzlement: Charge stems from an incident reported to LPD in September 2016. 

Jeremy Knight, 28 

  • Felony shoplifting: Charge stems from an incident reported to LPD in March 2017. 

Anyone with information can contact the Laurel Police Department or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP.

    The ladies of Phi Mu Sorority on the University of Southern Miss campus hosted a dance for 92-year-old War World II Navy veteran Paul Sonnier. Jessica Moreau, a social work intern at SouthernCare Hospice Services, says she would often visit with Sonnier. "He'd always ask me if I wanted to go to Ropers, the local bar," says Moreau.     A man jumping in to help a Lumberton Police Officer ended up with an injury of his own Monday. Lumberton Police Chief Carlus Page said an officer was dispatched in reference to a domestic incident just before 10 a.m. on Southern Street when the suspect, identified as Jeameal Taylor, starting running. Page said Taylor had knowledge he was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections and "immediately took off running." A civilian, Joshua Root, saw the chase and assis...
