Search nabs three on drug charges

Prison Bars. Prison Bars.
JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Three men have been charged with various drug charges after a search warrant was executed in Jones County.

Just before sunrise on Thursday Jones County Sheriff’s Department S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant at the 200 block of Triangle Drive.

This was a result of an investigation dating back several months, consisting of surveillance with authorities witnessing criminal activity, including the sale of illegal drugs, according to the sheriff.

This sheriff said the residence is known for drug and criminal activity, as well as being frequented by known members of the Aryan Brotherhood.

Three people were found at the residence and taken into custody:

  • Stevie Hurtt, 59, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine While in Possession of a Firearm.
  • Michael Hurtt, 38, charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
  • Joshua McNair, 30, charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Additional arrests related to this investigation are expected within the coming weeks.

Items recovered with the search warrant include methamphetamine in both solid and liquid forms, marijuana, illegally obtained injectable prescription medication in large quantities, scales, packaging supplies and other drug paraphernalia, several firearms, items stolen from a commercial business and materials related to the Aryan Brotherhood Criminal Organization.

Also confiscated in the search were financial ledgers associated with drug transactions that had taken place at that location.

All three suspects will be scheduled for initial appearances.
