FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Forrest County deputy made his initial appearance Monday afternoon.

William Harold Brown Jr., 45, is facing a felony charge of computer luring of a person under 18 for sexual purposes, and his bond was set at $25,000.

After the bond is posted he is required to wear a GPS monitor from court.

Earlier reports:

According to Chief Walker, the mother of the victim, who is 13, came to the police department to make a statement in regards to the case.

"The lady came in with her daughter's phone and it had sexual photos and videos that were supposedly sent to her from his (Brown's) phone," said Walker. "She gave her statement and based off the evidence in the case, it was enough to charge him."

Walker said a warrant was issued and Purvis police along with Forrest County Deputies went to his home to serve the warrant, but he wasn't home, but he came later Friday night and turned himself in.

Due to the ongoing investigation, Walker could not provide any other details in the case.

"I hate it because it's another law enforcement officer, but we are going to do our job regardless of who it is," said Walker.

Brown is set to have his initial appearance on Monday where his bond will be set.
