SANDERSVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

Sunday evening another accident occurred in Sandersville just a couple of miles from the first accident that had occurred only hours before.

Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident on East Main Street where a single pickup truck had impacted a bridge on its front passenger's side, according to the Jones County Fire Council.

According to reports, the vehicle's wheel assembly and drive shaft broke free from the vehicle just moments before the collision. Although emergency personnel were advised that the accident involved injuries, it was later confirmed that no one was hurt.

The single-occupant, adult male driver was assessed on scene by EMServ medics and refused transport to the hospital, according to the council.

One lane of the road was blocked and shutdown during emergency and vehicle recovery operations.

Emergency personnel on scene included Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department, EMServ Ambulance Service, Sandersville Police Department, Jones County Sheriff's Department and Jones County Fire Public Information Officer Caleb Worrell.
