HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Southern Miss Women’s Golf enters Monday’s Conference USA Championships as the No. 2 seed and will tee off at 7:50 a.m.

The CUSA tournament consists of three rounds of golf beginning Monday and ending Wednesday, the winning school earns an automatic bid into a 2017 NCAA Regional.

The 73rd-ranked Golden Eagles have won three tournaments in 2017, the second-most for the program in a single season. USM has also enjoyed the highest ranking in school history, climbing as high as No. 67 in the Golfstat.com poll.

"We came in knowing the team was going to be much more competitive and we knew we were going to have to work hard,” said USM senior Kelly Erasmus. “And I think we all gave it our all this semester. And it's just been incredible."

"I think we could definitely feel the build-up,” said USM senior Emily Ross. “We could definitely feel the confidence rising. I think it definitely has in part to the practices that we’re doing. They’re definitely goal-oriented practices."

"Emily [Ross] and I had a goal freshman year,” said USM senior Devon Spriddle. “ We said in the next four years let's win the conference championship. And now it's something that could be possible which I think is really cool.”
