USM baseball falls to Rice

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Southern Miss baseball fell to Rice Saturday 11-4 in a Conference USA contest.

The Owls scored four runs in the second and fifth innings. Tristan Gray led the squad with four hits.

Matt Wallner led the Golden Eagles with two. They had eight as a team. Dylan Burdeaux collected a hit for the thirteenth consecutive game when he got his seventh home run of the year.

USM is now 27-9 overall and 11-3 in league play. The Golden Eagles and Owls play game three at 1 p.m. Sunday.
