HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Administrators, faculty and students at Pearl River Community College gathered Thursday night to honor five distinguished graduates.

They were inducted into the 2017 Class of PRCC's Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame.

The inductees included educators Carolyn Adams of Oak Grove and Dr. James W. "Jimmy" Barnes of Prentiss, physician Thomas E. Holden of Pearl River County, businessman William W. "Bill" James, Jr. and attorney and businessman Anthony L. "Tony" Walker.

"What we're trying to do with all of this is to not only honor these people for their success, but also to create those role models and the opportunities for our students to be exposed to these people," said Dr. William Lewis, president of PRCC.

A total of 32 graduates have been inducted since 2012.
