Guest Commentary: WUSM to host annual golf tournament

This is guest commentary written by Justin Martin with WUSM 88.5 FM. 

WUSM 88.5 FM is Hattiesburg’s only community radio station.  Housed in the School of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern Mississippi, WUSM provides learning opportunities and real world experience for students in various areas of study. 

Why should you care about community radio? Because it is also a unique community voice offering an independent viewpoint found only on WUSM. A champion of the area it serves, WUSM provides a platform for local non-profits, local and regional musicians, businesses, and listeners. 

WUSM will host its annual golf tournament, Monday, April 24th at the Timberton Golf Club in Hattiesburg. Please consider getting involved as a sponsor or participant to help WUSM continue fulfilling our mission of service.  Information is available at our website southernmissradio.com.

    Hattiesburg police are searching for a man wanted in a forgery-uttering case. HPD spokesman Ryan Moore said the man wrote a fraudulent check for a drink machine at a business in the 600 block of Campbell Loop Drive in Hattiesburg.
