Jones Co. man arrested after allegedly assaulting victim with steel-toed boots

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting someone with a pair of steel-toed boots, according to the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

Brandon Houston, 21, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault. He made his initial appearance in court Thursday, where his bond was set at $5,000.

On Friday, March 24, Jones County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Sudie Road regarding a fight involving several people, according to the JCSD.

The police report said the victim was attempting to break up an altercation between his son and other suspects, including Houston. When the victim intervened, Houston pushed the victim to the ground and kicked him in the face while wearing a pair of steel-toed boots. Also, the victim was hit in the head with a baseball hat during the fight.
