MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Some girls scouts in Marion County made some sweet deliveries to those who protect and serve.

Troop 3825 in Columbia stopped by the police and fire departments as well as the sheriff's office and volunteer fire departments to give out boxes of their signature cookies.

The surprise treat was a way to thank them for their service.

The cookies were paid for through donations and through the troop.

As a girl-led organization, the girls helped decide how to spend the donated money.

"It was exciting because we got to meet some of our heroes and I would like to do it again,"said troop member Kaydence.

The troop also sent 186 boxes of cookies to troops overseas through the 'Cookies for Heroes' program.
