BILOXI, MS (WDAM) - William Carey baseball fell 6-0 to the Biloxi Shuckers in Tuesday night's exhibition game at MGM Park.
A crowd of 1,504 attended the ball game organized as a fundraiser for William Carey's tornado-damaged Hattiesburg campus.
"The campus was hit really hard, middle of the campus," said William Carey head coach Bobby Halford. "So, we made a remarkable recovery so far. So, this is just one step in helping us to continue."
"We know what we go through especially in tough times and any way we can help each other, that's what we're here for," said Shuckers manager Mike Guerrero.
Crusader senior pitcher Tyler Odom struck out six Shuckers in 4.1 innings. Senior Cody Christian registered the only hit for William Carey, a two-out single in the second inning.
The Crusaders (25-10, 11-4 SSAC) return to regular season play at Blue Mountain College on Friday.
