LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - One person was taken to the hospital after being injured in a shooting in Laurel Tuesday evening.
According to Laurel Police Chief Tyrone Stewart, the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on St. Elmo Street.
Stewart said a newly divorced couple and a third party got into an argument, and shots were fired by the ex-husband.
According to Stewart, the victim was struck multiple times and taken to Forrest General Hospital. The victim's condition is unknown. Stewart said the victim was an acquaintance of the ex-wife's.
Around 6:30 p.m., the ex-husband turned himself in, along with a weapon used to LPD Investigator Kim Stewart.
