Laurel mayor signs Crime Victims Rights proclamation

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Tuesday Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee signed a proclamation before a crowd of law enforcement personnel and victims rights advocates.

The proclamation named this week as Crime Victims’ Rights week and is meant to express gratitude to community members, victims service providers and criminal justice professionals who are committed to improving the response to all victims of crime.

Support is available to those who might be a victim of a crime at The Shafer Center. 

The Shafer Center for Crisis Intervention has a 24 hour crisis line and serves 11 counties in our region.

    Joe Hartfield is in his 12th season as the head coach of Hattiesburg High Baseball, and the Tigers are district champions for the third straight year. Even with all the success, Hartfield is very fortunate to be out there coaching this season.
